2/22/2006 "Correct Without Anger""Correct Without Anger"
"Real tapasya means accepting the pain that comes to you and not causing pain to anybody else. Remember that those who seem to cause you pain do not know what they are doing; they are ignorant. That's all they know. Be sympathetic towards them. Love them still. And, if you can do something to correct them, to help them realize their mistake, gently do it. But correct them without getting angry, and without thinking that you're punishing
them. It's almost like a student being corrected by a teacher. Sometimes it's necessary. When a teacher fails a student by giving low marks, the student is pained, no doubt, but there's no other way to let the student know that he didn't study well enough, that he didn't do enough on his exams, and he'd better study and learn more. So, with that attitude of correcting people, you can do so, not out of your anger. God bless you. Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi."
